Cattle Baron's Ball

Last night we had the pleasure of catering at the annual Cattle Baron’s Ball in Steelcase’s Town Hall. Since 2002, the Cattle Baron’s Ball has been one of the most distinctive charitable events in Grand Rapids. Guests got the chance to enjoy the unique, western-themed event complete with Texan-style cuisine, dancing, an auction, and our favorite…the mariachi band!

The goal of the Cattle Baron’s Ball is to raise funds for the American Cancer Society’s national research as well as local programs and services. The funds raised will help support research grants, educational programs for prevention and early detection, and direct services to cancer patients and their families. Funds are raised by ticket sales to the event, as well as the live and silent actions that take place. This year’s event raised over $150,000. Yehha!

Gilmore Catering, along with five other area restaurants and caterers were able to provide the guests with Texan-style food. Although Western attire was not required, we served many guest sporting flannel shirts and cowboy boots. For more photos and information about the event check out http://www.mlive.com/entertainment/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2012/08/take_a_look_inside_the_cattle.html.
